It is especially passengers from Sweden who have opened their eyes to the route, and travel from Halmstad and Gothenburg to Denmark. This summer, travellers from Sweden made up 50 percent of the passengers on Stena Line's two ferry routes between Jutland and the Swedish west coast.

"When you can take your car with you on the ferry crossing, it opens up endless opportunities to explore the Danish summer country. Several Swedes have discovered this, and therefore we see an increase in the number of passengers. Among the Danish tourists, we also see a great interest in the ferry routes, which are a detour to experiences in the Swedish nature, where, among other things, glamping and active holiday offers with, for example, cycling or hiking are popular," says Julia Kronberg, Group Marketing & Acquisition Manager at Stena Line.

This summer, 25 percent of the passengers on Stena Line's two ferry routes between Jutland and the Swedish west coast travelled from Denmark to Sweden.

With restaurants, play areas and shops on board, the holiday already starts on the ferry. STENA NAUTICA sails from Grenå to Halmstad in Sweden in just 4 hours and 35 minutes, while the route from Frederikshavn to Gothenburg only takes 3 hours and 30 minutes with one of the three ferries STENA DANICA, STENA JUTLANDICA or STENA VINGA. On both routes, you can easily take your car with you, and this gives you the flexibility to get around on your own when you're on holiday.

In addition to Danes and Swedes, the passengers on the two ferry routes Grenå-Halmstad and Frederikshavn-Gothenburg come from countries such as the Netherlands, Norway and Germany. The booking figures also show that Stena Line has almost as many Norwegian passengers as in 2019, when the ferry company operated the route between Oslo and Frederikshavn.
