Norwegian de-restrictions allows for gradual start-up with Color Line Kiel cruise
The Norwegian government has given the go-ahead for a gradual reopening of society by implementing 'Step Two' in the de-restriction programme. With the gradual reopening, the government is once again facilitating return guests from Oslo. CEO Trond Kleivdal in Color Line says that it is a day of joy for the company's employees and all guests who have been waiting for the opportunity to travel again with COLOR FANTASY and COLOR MAGIC. The opening for return guests from Oslo means a gradual start towards normalisation.
In the first instance, the offer will apply to passengers who want to start in Oslo and be on board during the entire journey without going ashore in Kiel. Disembarkation will only take place upon return to Oslo and will not entail a quarantine obligation. The ships can also take on board commercial drivers transporting goods between Germany and Norway.
The initiation will follow the guidelines for infection control that will apply, and which is important for creating a safe and good environment for guests and employees, says CEO Trond Kleivdal. Color Line has good routines for infection control and the company was the first in Norway to be verified by DNV for the company's systems related to handling infection control on board ships and at terminals.
Non-landing return trips start with COLOR MAGIC the first departure of which is schedulded on 9 June with COLOR FANTASY to follow on 24 June.
The gradual reopening of Norway gives an important signal, but the most powerful single measure to rebuild the tourism industry is to open the borders to the Nordic countries and Germany this summer. Also in this perspective, the news today about a gradual reopening of society is an important signal, says CEO Trond Kleivdal. With an opening to the Nordic countries and Germany, Color Line will be able to help secure thousands of Norwegian jobs in tourism.
Color Line is today the only shipping company in the international passenger and freight traffic to and from Norway with all ships in the Norwegian ship register, Norwegian ownership and with Norwegian head office.
