New tool: Easier itinerary planning in the Baltic Sea Region and Norway

Cruise Baltic and Cruise Norway have joined forces and launched the new tool, the Itinerary Planner. The tool makes it easier for cruise lines to check availability and plan itineraries in the Baltic Sea Region and Norway.
Cruise lines can look forward to easier itinerary planning with the new tool, the Itinerary Planner. The tool is launched by Cruise Baltic and Cruise Norway, who have worked together to create a convenient solution for cruise lines planning itineraries in their regions.

“The collaboration between Cruise Baltic and Cruise Norway is unique and innovative. The fact that two cruise associations are joining forces to create a common product that provides greater accessibility to the region is really a strength. Not only does it benefit the cruise lines with a much easier way to plan itineraries, but it also proves that together we can achieve more,” Claus Bødker, Director of Cruise Baltic.

The Itinerary Planner is a further development of Cruise Norway’s Cruise Calendar, but with a new design that also includes the entire Baltic Sea Region. It works like a calendar where cruise lines can check the availability in the Baltic Sea Region and Norway and plan their itinerary accordingly. Thus, it now becomes more convenient and easier for cruise lines to plan new itineraries in the regions.

The pandemic has forced the cruise industry to think in new directions and be more adaptable than ever before. Therefore, Cruise Norway also sees an even greater value and importance in launching the tool now:

“Due to the pandemic, the tool is more important than ever. We all need to be agile in our planning, and the cruise lines must be able to change their itineraries at short notice to comply with laws and restrictions. With the Itinerary Planner, cruise lines can easily check the availability during their selected periods and quickly get an overview of how they can adjust their itineraries,” says Inge Tangerås, Managing Director of Cruise Norway.

The Itinerary Planner works very simply: The cruise line creates a draft of the preferred itinerary, checks availability and avoids congestion. If there is no availability in a given port, it will be displayed as "fully booked". Most cruise ports in the Baltic Sea Region and Norway are already represented in the tool and easy to identify, so it is as convenient as possible for the cruise lines to get a great overview for future itinerary planning.
