Monitoring of the construction of the 9500 passenger Global Class Cruise Vessels

OMT is mandated by the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and KfW IPEX to monitor and report the progress of the design and construction of the two large 9500 passenger Global Class cruise ships. The vessels are currently under construction at MV Werften, and are the largest vessels ever being built in Germany. OMT provides the State, KfW and other stakeholders a unique insight into the shipyard and the status of the build. The risk, key milestones and progress of their investment are continuously assessed and evaluated by OMT as an independent party.

Genting Hong Kong, a leading global leisure, entertainment and hospitality enterprise, has ordered two 342-meter cruise ships at MV Werften in northern Germany. These ocean giants set new standards within digital consumer technology, entertainment facilities, size and comfortability.

Investing over 300 million euros MV Werften has become a world class cruise ship yard. The construction began in 2018 with expected delivery of the two vessels in 2021 and 2022.
