Hurtigruten AS Annual Report 2020

Total operating revenues for Hurtigruten AS was EUR 90.5 million in 2020 (2019: EUR 344.5 million), a decrease of 74 % from last year. Net operating loss in 2020 was EUR 9.8 million compared to a profit of EUR 10.6 million in 2019.

The Company's financial performance in 2020 has been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Before the pandemic hit, the financial performance was strong, with substantial growth year over year, and Hurtigruten entered 2020 with good prospects and the last 12 months results as of February 2020 was at all-time high. There was underlying growth in January and February driven both by the inclusion of ROALD AMUNDSEN to the expedition fleet, giving an increased capacity, as well as a significant growth in yield in both the Hurtigruten Expedition and Hurtigruten Norway segments. However, operations almost fully stopped in the last weeks of March and continued throughout the summer and into last half year.
