Helsinki Shipyard Oy has ordered twin Becker Heracles Rudder systems for two luxury cruise expedition newbuildings
The owner, Russia´s largest river cruise company Vodohod International, will operate both vessels with ice class PC6 in high latitude areas in Arctic and Antarctic waters. During Spring and Autumn, the vessels will also operate under tropical conditions.
With such challenging operational parameters, the well-proven Heracles Rudder (Becker Flap Rudder with Closed Linkage) is the perfect choice to guarantee an excellent and reliable manoeuvring performance. The first of the 110 m long vessels with a passenger capacity of 148 each is scheduled for delivery in August 2021, with the second following in January 2022.
