Destination Gotland switches name on VISBY and VISBORG
From week 47 to week 49, the LNG vessel VISBORG will embark on a planned shipyard visit in Landskrona. In connection with this, the ship will also change its name to VISBY.
According to tradition, the newest ships always change their name to GOTLAND and VISBY. Now it's time for the second of the two new LNG vessels SF1650 to get its new name. In connection with the planned shipyard visit, the name on the ship's side will be repainted.
- It is a fine tradition that we want to preserve, says Marcus Risberg, CEO of Destination Gotland. Our newest ships are always named VISBY and GOTLAND.
During the shipyard stay, certain trips will be affected, especially the route Visby - Oskarshamn.
- We understand that the changed timetable during the period when the ship is at shipyard can cause problems for our passengers, says Marcus Risberg, CEO of Destination Gotland. We hope for indulgence and look forward to welcoming everyone on board VISBY when she is back in service on 9 December.
The older SF1500 vessel, which is also called VISBY, is planned to change its name in January 2022. The new name will be VISBORG.
