Climeon wins repeat order from Fincantieri
Climeon has received an additional order from the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri of Heat Power modules worth EUR 1.5 million. The Heat Power modules will be installed in the fourth cruise ship that Fincantieri is building for Virgin Voyages.
In 2016, Climeon won an order to deliver Heat Power modules to three cruise ships being built by Fincantieri for Virgin Voyages. Climeon has since then delivered Heat Power modules to two out of three ships that are currently being constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard. The first ship, SCARLET LADY, will be finished in 2020.
- It feels great that all the hard work we’ve put down to improve the quality and live up to the tough requirements in the maritime industry is now paying off in the form of new orders, says Thomas Öström, CEO of Climeon.
The repeat order of the Heat Power modules will be delivered in spring 2021 and deployed in 2023. The cruise industry is in the forefront when it comes to energy efficiency and on the move towards more sustainable experiences.
- We are very proud to extend our cooperation with both Fincantieri and Virgin Voyages. The Maritime industry needs progressive shipyards and ship owners, such as Fincantieri and Virgin Voyages, who will continue to deploy green technologies to save fuel and reduce emissions, says Carl Berglund, Head of Maritime - Cruise & Ferry.
