Becker Rudders for 2 TT-Line Green Ship RoPax vessels
Chinese shipyard Jiangsu Jinling has selected Becker to supply twisted flap rudders with rudder bulb for two high-efficient twin-screw RoPax ferries. The next generation Green Ship concept has been designed by OSK Shiptech and is under construction for the German TT-Line.
Becker’s energy-efficient rudder design with both flow-optimised bulb and twisted leading edge profile will contribute to the expected 50% emission reduction compared to the previous RoPax generation. Additionally, the exceptional manoeuvrability of the Becker Flap Rudders Twisted will allow flexibility and fast turnarounds in ports. The dual-fuel RoPax vessels can be powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas) and have a length of 230 m each, with the first of the two ferries scheduled for delivery in 2022.
