ALIS, the port of Rostock is a honorary member: The cluster continues to grow in Europe and looks at Germany
Guido Grimaldi: "With ALIS Europe we promote sustainable development and competitive levels’ growth in the logistics and portual sectors"
"ALIS' network growth, also in the logistics-portual sector, is reaching incredible numbers across Europe: starting today the Port of Rostock, the 33rd to join as honorary member and the tenth outside Italy, enriches our Cluster”.
Great satisfaction expressed by Guido Grimaldi, ALIS President, for Rostock Port decision to become a member of ALIS: with an intermodal terminal of 70,000 square meters and a total of 26 million tons of goods processed in 2018, the Port represents a strategic hub for German and European transport and logistics sectors.
"With the membership of important European ports, as Rostock, - adds Guido Grimaldi - we are continuing to pursue ALIS Europe’s goals, offering new opportunities to our member companies and promoting sustainable development and competitive levels’ growth in the global market".
In this Germany's important port on the Baltic Sea coast, Ro-Ro traffic has proven to be the engine of Rostock's port business growth, through efficient, safe and sustainable commercial exchanges. The port figures are clear: 5,500 workers, 2,500,000 passengers/year, 150 companies operating in the port, 120 departures/week, a remarkable annual Ro-Ro growth of 4% for a total of almost 17 million tons handled.
"The entrance in ALIS of the Rostock Port - concludes ALIS President - further demonstrates our Cluster's commitment in promoting environmental sustainability, expanding port infrastructures, focusing on the internationalization of our member companies".
