ALIS: Copenhagen and Malmö ports new honorary members

ALIS President Guido Grimaldi: "Strong commitment towards internationalization and sustainability: our Cluster is increasingly representative also in Northern Europe".
"The number of ports belonging to ALIS as honorary members is increasingly growing: thirty-six in Italy and Europe, including Copenhagen and Malmö, among the largest port authorities in Northern Europe".

ALIS President Guido Grimaldi communicates with satisfaction and pride the new membership in the Cluster, particularly significant at international level since the Copenhagen Malmö Port authority - in a strategic position as a hub between Germany, Scandinavia, Baltic countries and Northern Europe in general - manages both the largest Danish port and the strategic port of the third Swedish city, Malmö.

“It is increasingly evident how the Association is aiming at the internationalization of the sector, through the development of sustainable transport and the competitive growth of our companies in European markets." - continues the President of ALIS - "We are therefore proud that our Cluster is becoming increasingly representative also in Northern Europe, thanks to the recent entry of the ports of Helsinki, Loovisa, Hanko, Travemunde, Rostock and, now, Copenhagen and Malmö ”.

The Copenhagen-Malmö port authority, that has united the two ports since 2001, counts about 800,000 passengers a year, has received important awards as the best European cruise port and, in terms of traffic of goods, concentrates its activity on the Ro -Ro activities (5 terminals dedicated) and on the railway connections in port (about 36 km of tracks).

“For the ALIS Cluster it is very important to cooperate with the Copenhagen-Malmö port authority - concludes Guido Grimaldi - which offers clients and companies modern services for a distribution of about 16 million tons of cargo per year and, above all, adopts concrete green solutions for an increasingly sustainable transport in terms of: respect of the environment, reduction of polluting emissions and discharge into the sea, increased safety and health for citizens,  passengers, workers".
