VIKING LINE Introduces the Baltic Sea’s First Outdoor Sauna Aboard VIKING XPRS
FerryViking Line is unveiling the Baltic Sea’s first outdoor sauna experience aboard VIKING XPRS this summer. Starting 6 June, a six-person sauna styled to resemble a Finnish Long Drink can will be available on Deck 7, as the vessel sails between Helsinki and Tallinn. Developed in collaboration with Hartwall, the sauna features a private terrace with sun loungers and is pre-heated before departure.
The sauna is available for pre-booking (or on board if vacant) and costs EUR 60 for a two-hour session. The booking includes:
- Access for up to six people,
- A private cabin for changing and showering (available for 2.5 hours),
- Robes and slippers on loan,
- A bucket with six cans of Finnish Long Drinks.
Ossi Ruusunen, Viking Line’s Beverage Manager, explains the concept began as an April Fool’s joke but quickly became reality thanks to strong enthusiasm from their partner. He believes the unique on-board sauna will appeal to a broad audience, including international travellers, offering them two authentic Finnish experiences in one: a cruise and a sauna.
