TINKER BELL collides with SKÅNE in Trelleborg port
FerryA technical malfunction aboard TT-Line’s ferry TINKER BELL led to a collision with the moored Stena Line vessel SKÅNE in Trelleborg harbor in the afternoon of Wednesday the 11th of March, causing notable damage but no injuries or pollution.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when TINKER BELL, returning from maintenance in Klaipeda, lost steering control while entering the port. It struck the port-side bow of SKÅNE, which had arrived from Rostock and was berthed with about 130 passengers onboard.
SKÅNE sustained significant damage above the waterline. Divers inspected for underwater issues, and all passengers and vehicles were safely disembarked by 4:30 p.m. Emergency services, including the Coast Guard, responded swiftly.
No oil leakage occurred, and authorities are investigating the precise cause of the fault on TINKER BELL. TT-Line is cooperating fully with port officials and relevant agencies.
