The world’s largest PCTC delivered by GSI
Ro-roSouth Korean HMM took delivery of the world’s first PCTC with a CEU capacity exceeding 10,000. The delivery took place at China’s Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) during a ceremony that also included the vessel’s naming.
The newbuilding was named GLOVIS LEADER and, as the name suggests, will be commercially operated by Glovis (Hyundai). The vessel has an overall length of 230 metres and a beam of 40 metres, with a design draft of 10.5 metres.
Its capacity of up to 10,800 CEU is distributed across 14 decks. The dualfuel LNG main engine is an Everllence B&W 8S60ME-C10.5 GI. GSI currently has 11 sister ships in the series on order for delivery through 2028 - all with Glovis as the future commercial operator.
