The electric ferry TYRFING for Samsølinjen completed sea trials
FerrySamsølinjen’s new electric ferry TYRFING has successfully completed her sea trials and is now preparing for delivery from the Turkish Cemre Shipyard. TYRFING is a sister to NERTHUS, delivered from the same yard in May this year.
The OSK Design-designed all-electric ferry is 116.8 metres long, have a capacity for 600 passengers and 188 cars and will serve the Ballen - Kalundborg route in Denmark.
It will be prepared for autonomous sailing between ports – with automatic docking and charging at the quay and have batteries with a 3.8 MWh capacity which will be fully charged in 20-25 minutes.
NERTHUS serves for Alslinjen on the shorter Fynshav – Bøjden route, hence the slightly smaller battery capacity of 3.1 MWh.
