
Özata Shipyard launches electric ferry for Torghatten Nord
FerryTurkish shipbuilder Özata Shipyard has successfully launched NB102 FLØYTIND, the second of three fully electric ferry in a series ordered by Norwegian operator Torghatten Nord AS.
The vessel, designed by The Norwegian Ship Design Company, measures 76.85 metres in length and 15.50 metres in beam. It can carry 60 vehicles and 202 passengers (including crew) and is equipped with a dual battery system totalling 1,960 kWh (2 × 980 kWh) for zero-emission operations.
FLØYTIND is the second of three sister vessels; the first (NB101 MISTERØY) was launched earlier, with delivery expected in June 2026, FLØYTIND is due in September 2026, while the third vessel is due in 2028.
This project marks Özata Shipyard's first order from a Northern European ferry operator.
