Names announced for GNV’s four remaining newbuildings
FerryGNV (Grandi Navi Veloci) has named the four remaining ships in its newbuilding programme, which runs until 2029. The four RoPax ferries, each measuring 237 metres and 71,300 GT, will have capacity for 2,500 passengers and 3,500 lane metres. All are on order at Guangzhou Shipyard International in China.
They make up the second half of GNV’s eight-ship newbuilding programme. The first four, delivered between 2024 and 2025, were built to a design developed specifically for GNV. The remaining four are based on an OSK Design platform also used for Moby Lines’ 2023 newbuildings MOBY FANTASY and MOBY LEGACY.
Unlike the Moby Lines vessels, the four GNV ferries will have dual-fuel LNG propulsion. Yard number 25110006 will be named GNV JUPITER, yard number 25110007 will be named GNV MARS, yard number 25110008 will be named GNV MERCURY, and yard number 25110009 will be named GNV VENUS.
