Keel laid in Poland for Torghatten ferry serving Dønna and Herøy
FerryRemontowa Shipbuilding marked the keel laying of a newbuilding for Norwegian ferry operator Torghatten Nord on 15 October. Yard no. B622 is a battery-hybrid double-ended ferry.
The one-off newbuilding was designed by The Norwegian Ship Design Company. Torghatten Nord signed the newbuilding contract with the Polish yard in January 2026, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.
The ferry will accommodate 249 passengers and 85 cars and serve routes to the islands of Dønna and Herøy, off the Helgeland coast in Nordland. Remontowa Shipbuilding has built 21 ferries for Norwegian operators since 1999.
