GNV charters GOLDEN CARRIER for the Palermo-Naples route
FerryTo fill a gap, the MSC-owned GNV has chartered the RoPax GOLDEN CARRIER in the wake of Moby’s withdrawal from the Palermo-Naples route after been forced to sell some of its vessels to repay a loan granted by MSC.
The A-Ships Management owned 1986-built 363 passenger/1,770 lanemetres GOLDEN CARRIER is reported to have been taken in on charter for three months with an option for extra three months.
Due to a plan proposed and accepted by the Antitrust Authority (see separate news piece) to avoid the risk of sanctions for possible abuse of dominant position on certain cabotage routes, Moby was forced to dispose of and sell several vessels. GOLDEN CARRIER was sold by Unity Line (Polish Steamships) as WOLIN to A-Ships Management earlier this year.
