Gestas charters additional summer capacity
Ro-roTurkish ferry operator Gestas has chartered additional tonnage for the summer peak season on its route across the Dardanelles between Lapseki and Gelibolu. The additional capacity is provided by the 1,998 GT TEKIRDAG 59, built in 2022.
According to Gestas, the vessel has been chartered for 75 days and entered service on the route on 22 July. Owned by Turkey’s SS Erdek Deniz Motorlu, TEKIRDAG 59 has capacity for 135 cars or, alternatively, up to 40 lorries on 810 lane metres.
