GALAXY sold and reflagged to Togo
FerryThe 1979-built ferry GALAXY, formerly owned by A-Ships Management, was taken over at the end of April by the Marshall Islands-based company Sea Connection Maritime. In connection with the change of ownership, GALAXY was transferred from the Cyprus register to the flag of Togo.
GALAXY, which was delivered by the Polish shipyard Stocznia Szczecinska to Polferries as SILESIA, has been owned by A-Ships Management since 2016. Under the name GALAXY, the ferry has since been chartered to several different operators, most recently to the Faroese operator Strandfaraskip Landsins last year.
It was the second time the publicly owned Faroese operator had chartered the vessel, which in recent years has also operated for Caronte & Tourist and Inter Shipping. A-Ships Management has also operated the ferry itself during certain periods.
