Former STENA NAUTICA arrives on new route

FerryAfter three months laid up in Frederikshavn, the former STENA NAUTICA departed on 10 August under its new name, ECKERÖ LINK. Its first stop was a trial call at Långnäs in the Åland Islands on 12 August, before arriving at Naantali, Finland, later that evening. The 1986-built STENA NAUTICA was placed on the second-hand market by Stena Line following the closure of the Halmstad–Grenaa route on 30 April this year.

The ferry was formally taken over by Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö on 6 August and will operate under its new name, ECKERÖ LINK, between Långnäs and Naantali. At the same time, Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö has phased out its oldest and smallest ferry, the 1972-built FJÄRDVÄGEN. ECKERÖ LINK is expected to enter service during the autumn.
