Fjord Line takes over Transportsentralen Kristiansand to strengthen freight operations
FerryFjord Line is acquiring both the staff and operational activities of freight forwarding firm Transportsentralen Kristiansand, with the transfer taking effect 1 July 2026. The operator has seen significant freight volume growth on its Kristiansand–Hirtshals route, particularly since deploying its LNG-powered vessels there in 2023.
The current owners, TMH Kran and Asbjørn Mollestad og Sønner, sought a long-term solution as they wind down their own involvement. The move bolsters Fjord Line's capabilities in freight forwarding and customs documentation, an increasingly important area for freight customers. Norway's second-largest international ferry operator carries 57,000 freight units annually and employs around 640 people.
