BUENAVISTA EXPRESS to be put into service on the shared Canary Islands route
FerryFred. Olsen Express and Baleària will on 24 January add the BUENAVISTA EXPRESS to the route between Huelva and the Canary Islands, a route operated in a partnership between the two parties.
The vessel will replace the first-gen Visentini RoPax SICILIA.
BUENAVISTA EXPRESS will serve the route together with 2019-built LNG/dual fuel Visentini RoPax MARIE CURIE. BUENAVISTA EXPRESS can carry up to 1,850 lanemetres of trailers/trucks.
The 2001-built vessel has capacity for up to 1,250 passengers and 390 vehicles and featuring more than 200 cabins. Fred. Olsen Express took ownership of BUENAVISTA EXPRESS 29 September 2025.
The ship, which at that time was named FORTUNY, was first sold by Armas Trasmediterránea to Liberty Lines, who immediately resold the vessel to Fred. Olsen Express.
