Baleària Canarias unveils summer programme with 12-ship fleet to boost inter-island links
Baleària Canarias has set out its programme for the 2026 summer season across the Canary archipelago, deploying a fleet of 12 vessels to serve inter-island routes and connections with the Spanish mainland.
Four of these are new additions for the region: the just delivered fast ferry MERCEDES PINTO, fast ferry PEPITA CASTELLVÍ, the RoPax SICILIA, and the RoRo vessel JOSEFINA DE LA TORRE — the former ABU SAMRAH, recently acquired by Baleària from UGR. The RoPax VOLCÁN DE TAMADABA also returns to reinforce the Fuerteventura service throughout the summer.
The roll-out of new services and reinforcements will be phased in progressively over the summer. From 5 June, the operator launches "las tres en línea", a daily Morro Jable – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – Santa Cruz de Tenerife route, operated by the new fast ferry MERCEDES PINTO alongside the fast ferries VOLCÁN DE TAIDÍA and VOLCÁN DE TAGORO.
15 June marks the key date for the western islands. The fast ferry PEPITA CASTELLVÍ and the VOLCÁN DE TIRAJANA will cover the triangular service linking Los Cristianos, San Sebastián de La Gomera and Santa Cruz de La Palma. The Los Cristianos–La Palma route doubles from one to two daily services, while the La Gomera connection will offer four daily departures from Los Cristianos. From 1 July, frequency between Cádiz and the Canaries rises from three to four weekly return sailings, including a new direct connection with Tenerife.
