Irish Continental Group year-to-date trading update

Irish Continental Group issued its year-to-date trading update for the period 1 Jan-18 Nov and financial information for the first 10 months of 2023. Compared to the same period last year, the number of cars transported increased with 12.2%, ro-ro freight 3.9%. Consolidated Group revenue ended at EUR 491.4 million (-1.8%).


Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö is a company with a participating interest undertaking in the Viking Line Group
As of 22 November, 2023, Viking Line Abp’s shareholding in Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö exceeds 20%. Viking Line Abp’s Board of Directors decided that Rederiaktiebolaget Eckerö will be accounted for as a company with a participating interest undertaking using the equity method in the Viking Line Group’s financial accounts. A positive initial income effect of EUR 2.5 million will arise in the transition to accounting using the equity method. This effect will be recognized in the consolidated income statement during the fourth quarter of 2023.

Revenues amounted to SEK 1,895.5 million (SEK 2,395.3 million). The costs amounted to SEK -1,711.4 million (SEK -2,363.0 million). Revenues and costs during the period are lower than the previous year, mainly as a result of items relating to Stockholms Reparationsvarv and Hansa Destinations, as well as for ships sold during the second half of 2022 and the first half of 2023. Adjusted operating profit amounted to SEK 222.9 million (SEK 32.6 million).

Seizure of the GALAXY LEADER PCTC chartered by NYK
On the evening of November 19 in Tokyo (early afternoon local time), NYK was informed by Galaxy Maritime Ltd., which is based in the U.K., that an NYK-chartered PCTC named GALAXY LEADER had been seized by Houthi rebels near Hodeida, Yemen, while sailing for India. No cargo was on the vessel.
At 8:30 a.m. on 21 November, NYK organized a crisis management center at its head office to gather information and manage this incident. As the vessel’s charterer, we are prioritizing the safety of the 25 crew members.
High-speed catamaran MISS OUTRE-MER delivered to CTM Deher in Guadeloupe

A new 36-metre custom built passenger ferry has been delivered to Guadeloupe-based operator CTM Deher from the Kim Seah Shipyard in Indonesia. The new ferry, named MISS OUTRE-MER, was designed using Incat Crowther's digital shipbuilding process.
The new 316-seat passenger ferry has been designed to safely and efficiently service CTM Deher’s passenger and tourism routes in the French West Indies and is expected to begin operating in late 2023.
Capable of reaching speeds of up to 28 knots, MISS OUTRE-MER is powered by twin MTU 12V4000 main engines and will have a service speed of 25 knots.
