ISLANDER becomes first Condor ship to be rebranded into Brittany Ferries livery

Following a month-long refit in Poland and certification, ISLANDER (ex. CONDOR ISLANDER) has started to carry freight and passengers six days per week from Portsmouth, resplendent in her new Brittany Ferries' colours. The livery has been applied throughout the vessel, reflecting the strong French branding and refreshing identity whilst the ship's crew will soon be assigned new uniforms.
Norwegian consortium targets LNG-fuelled shipping with onboard CO2 capture technology

A Norwegian consortium, led by HAV Group and including Havila Voyages, Molgas Norway, and SINTEF, has launched the LNGameChanger project to decarbonise maritime transport. The initiative focuses on developing a low-to-zero-emission solution by integrating solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) with onboard CO2 capture and storage on LNG-fuelled ships.

Construction of Incat’s fully electrically capable 78-metre ferry progressing

Construction of Incat's newest 78-metre ferry is well progressed, with the vessel on track for operation in the first half of 2026. Designed with low-emission operations in mind and with flexible propulsion options - fully electric, hybrid, or generator-assisted, its incorporating lessons learned from the world's largest battery-electric ship, Hull 096 (CHINA ZORRILLA), also nearing completion at the Tasmanian shipyard.
Stena Line enhances partnership with Nowhere Networks

Stena Line has been using Nowhere Networks’ land-based network on 32 ships since 2021. It has now chosen Nowhere Networks as its sole connectivity provider, managing all internet communication for its entire fleet. The solution includes high-speed internet with full coverage, SD-WAN, traffic control and optimization, a portal, payment solution, single point of contact, and 24/7/365 NOC.

LMG Marin supports Remontowa Shipbuilding in winning CMAL’s tender for seven all-electric ferries

LMG Marin, a subsidiary under Seatrium Group and a naval architecture and ship design company, announced its role in supporting Remontowa Shipbuilding in securing the contract to build seven all-electric small ferries for Scottish ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne (CMAL). This significant newbuilding project marks a major step in modernizing Scotland's ferry network with sustainable and efficient vessels.
Sea-Cargo to future-proof MISIDA and MISANA with energy optimisation technologies

The two sister ships, MISIDA and MISANA, acquired by Sea-Cargo from Godby Shipping, will be upgraded in the summer of 2025 with a range of technologies estimated to reduce fossil fuel consumption by up to 50%.

AIDADIVA completes its Evolution programme modernisation as first of seven ships

AIDA Cruises has successfully completed the first of seven major ship modernisations under its Evolution programme with AIDADIVA. After a seven-week dry dock overhaul at the Chantier Naval Shipyard in Marseille, France, from 3 February to 21 March 2025, AIDADIVA is now shining in new splendour. From the technology to the upgraded staterooms, new restaurants, and expanded entertainment, AIDADIVA has been modernised and redesigned from the ground up.
Noatum Maritime takes delivery of first LNG powered vessel for United Global Ro-Ro joint venture

Noatum Maritime, part of AD Ports Group's Maritime & Shipping Cluster, has taken delivery of its first LNG powered PCTC vessel which will be utilised by the recently formed JV with Erkport, "United Global Ro-Ro."
Forming part of Noatum Maritime's Ro-Ro expansion strategy, the newbuild vessel, named UGR AL SAMHA, initially intended as ELECTRIC STAR, boasts 12 decks covering a total area of 59,331 sqm with a capacity of more than 7,000 car equivalent units (CEU).

The Grimaldi Group partners with UNICEF to transport essential aid for vulnerable children
UNICEF and the Grimaldi Group have signed a one-year logistics agreement with the aim of facilitating the transportation of life-saving aid for UNICEF's humanitarian programmes in Africa.
The aim of the partnership is to improve the access to essential supplies for children and their families in UNICEF's emergency conditions and development programmes.
The Grimaldi Group will provide free maritime transportation for at least 80 containers of UNICEF's aid on the New York (U.S.) - Dakar (Senegal) route, contributing to the speed and efficiency of the distribution of essential supplies.
Mitsubishi Shipbuilding receives orders for three methanol-fuelled car carriers

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding has received additional orders for three methanol-fuelled car carrier ships from Toyofuji Shipping Co., Ltd., Miyazaki Sangyo Kaiun Co., Ltd., and Nichitoku Kisen Co., Ltd. The three ships will be built at the Enoura Plant of MHI's Shimonoseki Shipyard & Machinery Works in Yamaguchi Prefecture, with scheduled completion and delivery in order from fiscal 2028.
The ships will be approximately 168.0 metres in overall length and 30.2 metres in breadth, with 15,750 gross tonnage, loading capacity for around 2,300 cars and service speed of 21 knots.

Carnival Corporation Q1 2025 financial results

Carnival Corporation & plc announced financial results for the first quarter 2025. Record first quarter revenues of USD 5.8 billion, up over USD 400 million compared to the prior year. Record first quarter adjusted EBITDA of USD 1.2 billion increased 38 percent compared to 2024 and outperformed December guidance by USD 165 million. Booking volumes taken during the first quarter for 2026 and beyond reached record levels. Passengers carried reached 3.2 million in the quarter, up from 3.0.
BERG delivers the world's first GreenForge® shafts to the maritime market

BERG Propulsion is supplying the maritime industry with propeller shafts produced through the GreenForge® process, developed by Björneborg Steel. This method uses recycled scrap steel, renewable electricity, and fossil-free biogas, reducing CO2 emissions by 95% compared to conventional production, with remaining emissions offset for full climate neutrality.
Three Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) ro-ro vessels, set to operate from 2026, will use these shafts alongside wind power from rotor sails and hybrid propulsion systems from BERG. The production of six shafts for LDA will cut CO2 by 160 tonnes.
