Fincantieri and STX EUROPE - now signed agreement
Fincantieri has now signed the agreement with STX EUROPE for the acquisition of a majority of the shares of STX FRANCE.

Leading Turkish tour operator Etstur has chartered 1968-built, 15,781 gt LOUIS AURA for the summer season 2017, cruising from the Turkish port of Cesme, near Izmir to the Greek Islands.
Grimaldi Group's bid to take over HSW failed
Grimaldi Group's latest bid to take over Greece's largest ferry company, Hellenic Seaways (HSW) failed May 16, when a Grimaldi-motivated EGM failed to unseat HSW's management. Indeed, Grimaldi backers failed to win a seat on an enlarged 11-member board.
Fred. Olsen river cruise debut planned for April 2018
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines are to make a river cruise debut next year with the 156 guest BRABANT introduced on a dedicated programme starting on 5 April 2018 and taking in the Danube, Rhine, Main and Moselle rivers with a total of 30 departures on durations ranging from five to 25 nights.
2016 growth - also for Scandlines
Scandlines has reported a 2016 result with growth in both revenue and profit.

Tallink Grupp Q1, 2017, Unaudited Consolidated Interim Report
Tallink Grupp carried 1.9m passengers in Q1 (1 January - 31 March), which was 0.7% less than during the same period last year. Revenue decreased by 0.7% to a total of EUR 191.5m.
Fjord1 wins concessions and will therefore build five new ferries
The Norwegian ferry company Fjord1 has won the concessions for the two largest ferry connections in Norway; the Hareid-Sulesund and Sykkylven-Magerholm routes. Five new environmentally friendly ferries will be built for this purpose, each with a capacity of 120 cars.
Best-ever first quarter result for DFDS
DFDS achieved a 4% increase in revenue for the first three months of 2017 - its best-ever first quarter result. Profit before tax was up by 10% thanks to strong freight performance despite slightly weaker UK passenger numbers due to the late Easter.
Bay Ferries ticket sales increase five-fold
There has been a big increase in advance ticket sales for the Bay Ferries high-speed service between Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Portland, Maine, which starts its second season under new ownership at the end of the month.

Zeebrugge-Hull ro-pax ferry PRIDE OF BRUGES has been taken out of service following engine troubles that resulted in a late arrival in Hull on Thursday May 11.
