Four vessels are destined for Grimaldi Lines, three for Finnlines and two for Minoan Lines. The orders for the engines, propulsion systems and scrubbers were booked by Wärtsilä in 2025, while the order for the hybrid electric system for the Finnlines vessels was booked in the first quarter of 2026.

Delivery is scheduled for 2031. The vessel is the third unit in a class of ultra-luxury cruise ships designed and built by Fincantieri at its Ancona shipyard.

The study reveals a breakdown of the shipping’s contribution to the national budget of each Member State. Shipping is estimated to contribute around EUR 9 billion a year to EU and Member States’ revenues under a scenario with the carbon price at EUR 100 per tonne CO2. Even in a lower price scenario of EUR 85, the sector brings in a significantly high EUR 7.65 billion annually.

The French operator says the switch will cut A GALEOTTA's carbon footprint on the Corsican trade by 80 per cent. The scheme relies on a certified volume-equivalence system, under which a quantity of renewable biomethane derived from organic waste is produced and injected into the European gas network in proportion to the vessel's LNG consumption. 

The result is the Nowhere Connect Suite: six modules in one cloud-managed system that brings radio, LTE/5G, and satellite together into a single managed solution, with deterministic traffic shaping, secure corporate SD-WAN, crew Wi-Fi, a customizable passenger portal, and onboard payments. 

The aluminium catamaran will measure 129.28 metres in length overall with a beam of 30.95 metres and a gross tonnage of 15,775 GT. Designed for Molslinjen's Aarhus–Odden route across the Kattegat, she will carry 1,483 passengers and 500 cars at a service speed of 40 knots. Propulsion is fully electric, with battery packs totalling 44.75 MWh.

The installation was carried out at Damen Shipyard in Rotterdam between 21 June and 24 June, after which the 230-metre vessel departed with the full-scale rigid wing sail installed. Harbor acceptance tests and initial sea trials were successfully completed by 1 July, confirming that the system is operational and ready for performance evaluation under commercial sailing conditions.
