Richard Branson launches Virgin Voyages
CruiseRichard Branson doesn't like the word cruises and changed the name Virgin Cruises into Virgin Voyages during an event yesterday in Miami.
At the same time he announced that his new company ordered three ships with Fincantieri, although so far the Italian yard did not confirm the contract.
The three identical vessels will have a gross tonnage of 110,000 and will cater for 2,700 passengers. Delivery is for 2020 - 2022.
Virgin Voyages also announced a partnership with Swedish company Climeon which provides systems that turn waste into clean electricity.
