Is Fincantieri to become the co-owner of STX France?
YardEarlier, several parties have shown interest to take over the part of STX France owned by Korean STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co Ltd (in receivership). The French state holds a 33 percent minority stake in STX France.
Today (December 27) only one bid has been received, said the Korean Court. The bid comes apparently from the Italian Fincantieri Group, but this has not been confirmed.
Other candidates were the Genting Group, Damen Shipyards and French state-controlled naval shipbuilder DCNS.
STX France has been put on sale by the Korean court on October 19.
On January 3 we could know if the bid is accepted, or rejected.
If rejected, a new round will be launched.
