Fire on Polferries MAZOVIA
FerryThere was supposedly according to several sources a fire in the engine room on Polferries latest acquired ferry MAZOVIA on Friday the 14th, with several passengers saw smoke coming out.
More specifically it was one of the diesel generators that breaked down, and the ferry crew had to turn the generators off. The fire was extinguised without having caused any severe damages to the propulsion system other than the generators that had to be repaired during the night.
The ferry that service the route Ystad–Swinoujscie was supposed to leave Ystad at CET 14.00 o'clock, but was delayed and postponed several times until the passengers finally had to leave the ferry at CET 6 o'clock on Saturday morning with the explanation that it was due to bad wheather. MAZOVIA was later that day able to leave Ystad at CET 16 o'clock.
