Corsica Linea to open a line between Marseille and Mostaganem
Ferry Although neither rotations nor schedules are available, it was announced that the MEDITERRANEE, a 1989 built ferry with a capacity for 2,254 passengers, of which 1,836 in cabins, and 800 cars, will be allocated to this line until September 2017, when the DANIELLE CASANOVA, a 2002 built ferry with a capacity for 2,204 passengers, of which 1,884 in cabins and some 700 cars, will take over, at least until June 2018.
Mostaganem seems to have become a target for various lines, with Balearia having had a very successful summer operating from Valencia, and with Algerie Ferries announcing it too will operate from this port.
Comments were also made, so far without conclusion, that Mostaganem would be linked in the near future with Almeria, Spain.
With the capacity of these ferries, Corsica Linea are looking to carry a sizeable percentage of the market, and could well affect Balearia and other operators' future plans to Algeria on routes from Spain.
