In our story published in our last week’s Newsletter and in the upcoming June issue of ShippaxInfo about Australia’s expedition cruise ship operator Aurora Expeditions chartering the first of SunStone’s four 104m Polar Class expedition cruise ships ordered in China, we stated that Aurora also had an option on taking the remaining three vessels – THIS IS INCORRECT.

Miami-based entrepreneur Gene Meehan is to launch a new active lifestyle cruise line in May 2018 under the name of Blue World Voyages using a yet-to-be-named vessel converted into a 350-passenger capacity, all-suite five-star vessel.
Hurtigruten takes on ports over charges
Hurtigruten is taking legal action against a string of ports used by vessels on its historic coastal express service from Bergen to Kirkenes, together with cruises, for allegedly overcharging port fees.

The 12,365 gt ro-pax ferry MUTIARA SENTOSA I, built in 1988 as the Japanese VENILIA, caught fire on Friday May 19 in the Java Sea two nautical miles off Masalembu Island, halfway between Surabaya and Macassar.
New CEO for HH Ferries Group
The Board of Directors of Helsingborg-Helsingør ferry operator HH Ferries Group has appointed Johan Röstin as new CEO of HH Ferries Group. He will join the Group after the summer, succeeding Henrik Rørbæk who announced his resignation in February this year.
