Customs check threat to Bay Ferries service

A new threat has emerged to the future of the Bay Ferries high-speed passenger and vehicle service between Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, and Portland, Maine, with the American city not prepared to invest millions of dollars in upgrades demanded by the Federal Government to keep a customs inspection operation at the Ocean Gateway Terminal.

Liverpool Cruise Terminal plans to be considered in January

Liverpool Council’s Planning Committee will meet in January to consider an application for a new GBP 50m cruise terminal on the banks of the River Mersey close to the city’s historic Pier Head. This will see the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company moving to a new base further down river at the Princes Half Tide Dock where Manx Parliament Tynwald is spending GBP 3.5m to secure a 236- year site lease from port owner and operator Peel Ports.
