Stena Line to open a new freight route in its Baltic network
Less than six weeks after adding a fourth ship on the Karlskrona-Gdynia route, Stena Line announced that they will open a new route connecting Gdynia with Nynäshamn thrice a week in each direction.
Fred. Olsen Express orders two high-speed trimarans at Austal
Austal has landed an EUR 126m (AUD 190m) contract to design and build two 117m high-speed ro-pax trimarans for long-term customer Fred. Olsen S.A. of the Canary Islands, Spain.
BRØDRENE AA wins contract for three high-speed catamarans
Brødrene Aa, Hyen, Norway just annonced the signing of a new contract for three additional high- speed carbon fiber catamaran ferries for the Chinese market. The customer, Zhongshan-Hong Kong Passenger Shipping Co-op Co., Ltd (ZS), China will be operating the ferries between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, China.

W. B. YEATS will be the name for Irish Ferries’ new EUR 144m cruise ro-pax ferry under construction at Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft. The name was chosen by the Irish ferry operator after it had drawn strong support from the public in an online competition that attracted nearly 100,000 entries.
