CLdN has sent its 2,907-lanemetre MAZARINE to Remontowa Shiprepair Yard in Gdansk to add an extra trailer deck above the weather deck similar to OPALINE and sister AMANDINE which were enlarged prior to their delivery from builders Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft, increasing the intake to 3,923 lanemetres.

Costa Group subsidiary AIDA Cruises has revealed more details about the transformation of the 1999-built COSTA neoRIVIERA to AIDAmira. The rather compact size COSTA neoRIVIERA was already sold to AIDA Cruises last year and is set to arrive at the San Giorgio del Porto shipyard in Genoa on 30 October, from where she will set sail as AIDAmira on 28 November.

The fourth of six ro-pax ferries to be converted to LNG propulsion for Spanish operator Baleària, the 20,238gt, 2009-built BAHAMA MAMA arrived at Gibraltar’s Gibdock shiprepair facility on 22 September to begin her three-month conversion to LNG power.

The current holder of the Northern Isles ferry services contract in Scotland, Serco NorthLink Ferries, has beaten off competition from Clyde-based Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) to secure the latest contract to run the lifeline ferry services from the Scottish mainland to Orkney and Shetland. The eight-year contract, which starts on 31 October this year, is worth around GBP 345 million.

Record third quarter earnings for Carnival Corporation & plc

Carnival Corporation’s third quarter earnings show a revenue increase for the period to USD 6.5 billion, compared to USD 5.8 billion for the same quarter last year. US GAAP net income reached USD 1.8 billion, compared to USD 1.7 billion last year.

Viking Line: Revised earnings forecast for financial year 2019

As a result of Viking Line’s earnings trend, the Board of Directors has decided to revise the company’s earnings forecast for 2019. In the Board’s view, operating income for 2019 will be better than operating income for 2018.
The previously published earnings forecast was that operating income for 2019 would be on a par with or better than operating income for 2018. The Business Review for January – September 2019 will be published on October 25, 2019.

Corvus Energy strikes agreement with Kawasaki Heavy Industries for novel lithium-ion capacitor technology

They new ferry will serve the ports of Papeete and Moorea, in Tahiti. Shipowner SNGV2, based in Papeete, French Polynesia, is looking forward to increase its daily capacity and offer day tours.
