All-inclusive Argentinian cruise line to be launched
Alteza Cruises is the name of a newborn Argentinian cruise operator that will reportedly commence ‘all-inclusive’ cruises with a single ship, MED QUEEN, on 20 December.

Crystal Cruises takes delivery of CRYSTAL BACH
The river cruise vessel CRYSTAL BACH, the first in a line of four identical “Rhine-Class” vessels, was delivered by MV Werften to Crystal Cruises on 3 August 2017.
A second cruise ship for Victory Cruise Lines
The newly acquired cruise ship, to be named VICTORY II (ex- SEA DISCOVERER), is a sister ship to the one currently in operation, VICTORY 1. With its 91m length and 5,000 gt she will be able to carry 202 passengers when she will be put in service on 20 May, 2018, after some refurbishments and upgrades are made.
Madeira government seeks candidates to operate a weekly Funchal-Portimão ferry service
Madeira’s regional government is about to launch a tender for a weekly service connecting Funchal on Madeira with the Portuguese mainland port of Portimão in the Algarve region.
Talks between Port Ramsgate and Polferries confirmed
Promy24.com, the information and booking platform of Gdansk-based ferry freight booking agent, freight forwarder and road haulier PPT PKS Gdansk-Oliwa SA, has confirmed that there have been talks between Port Ramsgate and Polferries, the outcome of which is unknown, however.
First half results of operación paso del estrecho – ‘OPE’
The 2017 version of the ‘OPE’ reached its halfway point on 31 July. This three months campaign concerns the operation of various Spanish ports from Tarifa in the southwest to Alicante in the east, serving Moroccan and Algerian destinations, with some 2.8 million passengers making their way back to their original homeland for the summer holidays.

Second Quarter 2017 result highlights
- Revenue increased to just below USD 2.2bn for 2017, compared to USD 2.1bn in 2016.
- Total cruise operating expenses were down from USD 1.3bn in 2016 to USD 1.25bn.
Lindblad Expeditions report their 2017 second quarter financial results
