Vladimir Putin wants a maritime connection with the ports of Crimea
It has been reported by a Russian contact, that the Russian Ministry of Transport has had preliminary talks with two companies (PJSC Sovfracht and FSUE --Federal State Unitary Enterprise-- Rosmorport) about the start of regular maritime passenger transport from the Crimea ports.

Ferry operator Blue Line doesn't have a ship, temporarily
Blue Line Ferries announced that they completed the selling of their ferry REGINA DELLA PACE with which they maintained the route Split-Ancona-Split.
The ferry has been sold to Ventouris and has been renamed RIGEL III.
GNV adding Barcelona – Nador to their network
GNV have announced that starting in June, they will operate a service from Barcelona to Nador in Morocco. The first sailing, according to their booking site, is scheduled to sail on June 8 from Barcelona, at 16:00. Subsequent sailings from Barcelona will be every six days.

Today, January 24, Meyer Turku has delivered the LNG-powered conventional fast ferry MEGASTAR to Tallink. As befits the Meyer shipyard, the MEUR 230 ro-pax ferry was delivered on time and will be introduced on Tallink’s Tallinn-Helsinki shuttle service on Sunday 29 January.

In a deal worth MEUR 215, Turkish U.N. Ro-Ro Isletmeleri A.S. has taken over the ro-ro activities of compatriot Ulusoy that operates a fleet of four ro-ro ships between Çesme and Trieste, including a pair of 4,094-lanemetre ro-ros that was built by Flensburger in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

He will, however, continue to lead Costa Group’s global business. P&O Ferries’ strengthens its hub in Zeebrugge with a new sea bridge to Spain

Croatia postpones liberalisation of ferry lines
The Zagreb Government appears to delay the liberalization of the domestic ferry routes. Currently exclusively operated by state-owned Jadrolinija; the liberalization of the domestic ferry market was one of the mandatory provisions imposed by the European Commission to accept Croatia in the European Union. It is with dismay that international shipowners are waiting for the publication of tenders to grant maritime links.
Rathlin Island ferry ready to go!
New ferry SPIRIT OF RATHLIN is set to take-over the Northern Ireland passenger and vehicle service between Ballycastle, County Antrim, and Rathlin Island as soon as the island’s new harbour, costing MGBP1, is completed.
