MV WERFTEN revealed their Genting production schedule
YardGenting Cruises are committed to the long-term development of the Asian cruise industry, and with a limited number of yards capable of building large cruise ships in the region they have decided to invest in the German MV WERFTEN yard to build cruise ships for their brands – Star Cruises, Dream Cruises and Crystal Cruises.
The coming five year production schedule looks as following:
- Crystal Cruises will get four "Rhine Class" river cruisers with deliveries in 2017 and 2018.
- Crystal Yacht Cruises gets three 20,000 gt "Endeavor Class" ships with deliveries in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
- And Star Cruises receives two 201,000 gt "Global Class" cruise ships by 2020 and 2021.
After 2021 the production will be stepped up even further to produce two "Global Class" and two "Endeavor Class" ships a year.
In the first quarter of 2022 the three 1000 passenger "Exclusive Class" ocean ships with its privatelly owned apartments will also get its first delivery.
Jarmo Laakso, Managing Director of MV WERFTEN said; "This is excellent confirmation of the ship deliveries by Genting as MV WERFTEN is moving rapidly in basic and detailed design of the 'Endeavor Class' and 'Global Class' ships. Meanwhile the entire hull of the first two river ships are already completed due for delivery in 2017 and we will be cutting steel for the third and fourth river ships in January of next year for delivery in 2018,".
