NORMANDIE EXPRESS
Brittany Ferries carried more freight and passengers for the fourth consecutive year
FinanceSince 2012 Brittany Ferries has seen an increase of the number of passengers of 14% (with 13% for the cross Channel services and 16% for the UK - Spain lines).
Freight has seen a growth of 23%, since 2012. The Channel saw a 25% increase, and the Spanish routes a 17% improvement.
For the twelve-month period October 2015 - September 2016 Brittany Ferries could register a 4% increase, which is 107,000 passengers more than the twelve-month period before. In total 2,674,000 passengers have been ferries across.
Positioning the high-speed ferry NORMANDIE EXPRESS exclusively on Cherbourg has been a success with an increase of 21%.
The main line from Caen is steady (+1%).
Le Havre, where the "Economie" service is operated with ro-pax ETRETAT has seen a growth of +27%.
Freight is booming too with +12%. (Channel +10% and Spain +22%, where ro-ro vessel MN PELICAN has been added).
The summer figures could have been even better, if it was not because of damage on NORMANDIE in April and PONT AVEN in May, and French strikes in May and June.
